Uterine Fibroids
The uterine leiomyoma is a benign disease that occurs in the smooth muscle that mostly makes up the uterus. Myomas are divided into subserosal, submucosal, and intramural myomas depending on their position in the uterus.
The uterine leiomyoma is the most benign tumor in women and it is known that it occurs in about 40-50% after 35 years old. It usually does not appear on its own, but appears to be multiple, and is known to be affected by estrogen, a female hormone. It can continue to grow until menopause, but then decreases in size.
Many uterine leiomyomas are asymptomatic, especially small sized or subserosal myomas. As more women are taking regular health screenings, more and more myomas are found. However, there are women who have myoma of the uterine leiomyomas size like four months pregnancy and do not know it without any symptoms, but sometimes feel like pregnant.
The main symptoms are bleeding, lower abdominal pain and discomfort. Symptoms vary depending on the location and size of myoma.
Sometimes it is a problem by pressing the surrounding organs. When you push the bladder in front, urine often comes out and not all urine come out. If you press the rectum behind you, you may feel uncomfortable and constipation. Growing sideways, or cystic fibroids, can cause kidney dysfunction by pressing the ureters.
Bleeding
Submucosal myomas cause problems in bleeding or pregnancy. Submucosal myoma is close to the endometrium, so it can cause bleeding symptoms. There are quite a few bleeding types other than menstrual irregular uterine bleeding, but it is mostly caused by menstrual hypertrophy. Muscle myomas are large or close to the endometrium, causing many bleeding problems also. But submaxillary myomas usually do not cause bleeding problems.
Pain
It often causes lower abdominal pain or back pain, including dysmenorrhea. When the lump becomes big, it pushes the surrounding tissue, so it feels a little uncomfortable or painful, and it feels heavy or sick and feels like pulling down.
It is difficult to conclude that the cause of the disease is due to a specific disease, because the symptoms of the back pain can be in many cases. There are not many patients with severe dysmenorrhea when the fibroids are present alone.
Can touch mass
Subarachnoid hemorrhoids can be seen on the surface of the uterus when they are examined from the outside, and several rugged fibroids appear like taro.
Pregnancy related symptoms
Submucosal myomas close to the endometrium are associated with pregnancy, such as miscarriage, premature birth, infertility
